Faithless creatures that easily let good things slip thru their fingers
Patience wasn't something we learned
Neither was working hard
so we could feel like nothing was given, it was all earned
We would rather return to things we're used to
Instead of stepping out on faith and enjoying something brand new
If only we could understand that anything easy is a set up to fail
Sunshine ain't always here...
It gets dark
Sometimes it rains...
Some times it hails
But even thru the hell we refuse to pray
Its easier to say "fuck it its broke" and throw it away
The only time we communicate are when things are okay
When the storms come we'd rather leave our partner in the rain
Shame how we say we love someone and turn our backs when they need us the most
Not understanding relationships aint all "kick, push, coast"
Even the best of them fall short somedays
But we'll pass by them unphased
No hand reached out to help our partner up
Just walk on by like we never gave a fuck...
